FOX ISLAND , NEWFOUNDLAND

This project was acquired in 2001 (at cost) from a related company. The project is located in Western Newfoundland, on the shore of Port au Port Bay. Exploration has located six kilometres of enriched mineral sands. In 2002, Markland operated a spiral concentration plant for production of material for mineral separation and test market exposure. Heavy mineral concentrations averaged 8%. This program was recently completed and pilot plant tests are scheduled. There are indications that traces of platinum, gold, niobium and tantalum are also present.

Iron, Titanium, Zircon, Chromium, Garnet.

Resource Potential:
Field work has indicated an inferred resource of 35,000,000 tonnes.
